THE UPHILL BATTLE: CONSERVATION OF ENDANGERED SPECIES AND KEY STRATEGIES FOR EFFECTIVE PRESERVATION
Abdulquadir Iyanda Jimoh The Earth's ecosystem is a delicate balance of all living organisms, from the tiniest microorganisms to the magnificent apex predators. However, this fragile harmony is currently being disrupted by the grave issue of species endangerment. As we lose various species around the world, the repercussions extend far beyond the immediate loss of biodiversity. The vanishing of endangered species presents multifaceted challenges that threaten the very stability and resilience of our ecosystems. Habitat Loss and Fragmentation: One of the primary challenges faced by endangered species is the loss and fragmentation of their natural habitats. As human activities encroach upon ecosystems, forests are cleared, wetlands are drained, and grasslands are converted into agricultural lands. These anthropogenic activities severely limit the living space and resources available to many species, rendering them vulnerable to extinction. Climate Change: With the rapid c...
