Politics: My encounter with sycophants
By Comr. Jimoh Abdulquadir Iyanda
Politics in Nigeria is not seen as a responsibility of entrust with someone welfarism of the masses rather it was seen as a business of greedy, selfish interest, corruption, nepotism, ostentation and of great diabolic interest.
Furthermore, over the years while sitting in my cubicle lonely, I used to examine one after the other the reasons Nigeria as a country is crawling on a spot and the solution to her prosperity and greatness. On my walk around the corridor of political affairs, I now realize the reasons for our crawling, disunity, poverty and backwardness.
Many people have been brought up with the acceptable moral qualities that's acceptable to all in transforming our society to the greatness, but our society from inception was blessed with kleptocracy, callous, sycophants, greedy, selfishness, favouritism, and nepotism which also discourage them as a result of heavy obstacles, disguised discouragement and as well as intimidation place on their way, which debar them over time.
Moreover, it wouldn't have been easy for them to do, if we recognize the power of Education and information which they use as a tools to sabotage the efforts of committed fellows. But today in Nigeria, Education and information is not given priority and this give ways for politicians regarded as devil to manipulate people easily from responsible and honest individual respectively.
The youths, as a matter of fact, at their early stage in life are blessed with many resources and opportunities like good mental ability to receive many information, energy to get many work done over a little period of time, powerful reasoning ability, low level of borderness which enable them to get many things done. But in Nigeria, most especially in our localities across the country, we only have youths regarded as leaders of tomorrow, now they are heroes in smoking, illicit drugs addict, armed with all sorts of amoral attitudes and behaviors.
Arguably, youths must wake up from their slumber, and desist from all amoral activities that's endangering our peaceful coexistence and the greatness of Nigeria.
Youth who found it difficult to reason for him/herself, youth who cannot take responsibility for him/herself, youth who are very lazy to educate or empower him/herself with information, youth who are always armed with amoral and diabolic enterprises, any youth that doesn't plans for his/her career will be used as a political thuggery, hooligans, destroyer on the detriment of his/her people, and serving as deterrent to the prosperity of our immediate and wider society.
The future of our society lies in our hands, we are all holding our pen to write something down; as we are the writer of the future of our society, and that of the generations to come. We should endeavors to wake up from our slumber and transform this society to a better place by eschewing all forms of amoral activities and stand firm to the responsibilities.
Nevertheless, we have been surrounded with callous, kleptocracy, and greedy leaders who are there to derail us from our normal track, so that it can be easier for them to always exploit us from our well deserved entitlements.
The future of any society depends on educated people, and the future of the world depends on educated races. We should endeavors to educate and train our younger ones on the basis of moral standards for the purpose of unity, peace and progress.
Nothing will change this country for us, except we take adequate responsibility for ourselves and the coming generations.
