PROCRASTINATION: THE PRINCIPAL IMPEDIMENT TO A SUCCESSFUL LIFE

It is not a gain saying that the power of hard work and consistency is deteriorating in our value system.

It is seemingly glaring that hard work is losing its luster in our land, and the reason for this is our system that gives power to 419, laziness, and irrationality but discourages diligence, honesty, and patriotism.

Arguably, our nation is a country full of lopsided policies and arrangements. That's the reason why it is very important and advisable for youth who so cherished their dreams and aspirations to let them know right now that, this is the perfect time for you to swing into action and do something about your life.

Our system as a nation did not give room to fine and patriotic citizens, it only recognizes successful business tycoons, aristocracy, wealthy men, and successful professionals.

Both poor and rich individuals only celebrate material success and ostentatious display of wealth in public places even when it is earned from the most diabolical Enterprise ever seen or recorded in human history.

The interest and attention we give to overnight success, accomplishments, and achievers even when it is glaringly laid to bear that the wealth, money, or power is earned from ill-gotten and out of rationality. This kind of attention discourages and kills honesty, integrity, and truthfulness.

Furthermore, the pretentious and flamboyant ways in which we celebrate House warming, Wedding, burials, Graduation, Birthday, et cetera have led many young people to run past conceivable sense of human judgment and comprehension, and this is in the name of seeking filthy wealth and abundance.

You can conduct your research very well and "make use of your thinking caps along the way" and also "put into action, your searchlight", then you are going to discover that our system does not have a plan or ever had a single plan for anybody's mediocre or indolent. You should start doing all your best by directing the willpower of your life and steer it to things you dearly love to do and believe in the short time or the long run, it is going to take good form and blossom or materialize for excellence.

Don't be deceived by the illusion of overnight success or wealth, life is more pleasurable, beautiful, and sweet than that. If it comes the way you are thinking, it won't last for long, and it will eventually give you some kinds of anxiety, fearfulness, insecurity, or paralyzing existence.

Furthermore, I quote from the great publisher, editorial director of SUCCESS magazines, and a Revolutionary Entrepreneur, Darren Hardy who also started earning six-figures income by the age of eighteen, more than a million dollars each year by age of twenty-four, and owned a company producing $50 million a year in revenue by age twenty-seven opined that "Our expectation of what takes to create lasting success, things like grit, hard work, and fortitude aren't alluring and thus have been mostly forgotten". I recommend for you, his powerful Book titled: " The Compound Effect".

The fact is still the same, there are no substitutes for hard work, working smart, grit, and fortitude.

More so, you will continue to be a spectator or chief of procrastination, if you cannot take responsibility for your life and embedded in your plan and approach to life; hard work, grit, honesty, fortitude, perseverance, and stronger willpower to make a change. In the end, you become miserably saddest.

Indolent and lack of consistency in action and dealings is gradually losing its luster in our values system. The majority of our youths are not only lacking in virtues but have been consumed by dawdle and lackadaisical attitudes to every one of their endeavors.

Imperatively, our public policies, process, and implementation are governed and controlled by Nepotism, Inequality, Greedy, and a "Callous Belief System" resulting in poor productivity, lack of self-reliance, stooges followers in religious and political affairs, ignorance and poverty, diseases, frustration, and disasters.

It will interest you to know that In Nigeria System of Governance you can work for good 35 years in active work as a civil servant. Then you earn #500,000 a year and somebody else can be given a juicy appointment through nepotism within a month and started earning #5 million, #10 million, or more than #15 million every month.

Finally, the future belongs to those who believe in the fineness and beauty of their dreams and enshrined with the definiteness of purpose.

Work hard, follow your dreams, take responsibility, practice, persevere, and don't give up.

The real change we dearly want in this part of the world begins with me and you.

Never give in to hard work, "Tough times never last, only tough people do last".
