RESPONSIBILITY AND THE BLAMING SYNDROME IN NIGERIA 🇳🇬

Everyone want a perfect and a progressive nation where economy blooms for good, a country where justice is the rule of the day, a society where things fall in place or roll excellently for the civil servants, a society where education system is solving expected problem, a society where security agents deny bribery and corruption, a society where citizens are patriotic and hardworking, a society where government remain firm, compassionate and visionary, a society where unity, love, peace and progress is cherished. But none of us is ready to take responsibility and be accountable for our actions, dealings, and beliefs system.

Nigeria is a country affected with a "Blaming syndrome", and this blaming syndrome, can be regarded as a method employed by the majority of our population to elude or find a way out and blame our situation on somebody else or on an inevitable disaster.

However, this blaming syndrome is a problem that has eaten deep into our flesh both rich and the poor. We blame our situation for not being part of a developed world, we blame our government pathetically, we talked dirty of our co-workers, we talk about our family lack of education and western knowledge, we blame religious and faith leaders for rampant divorces and insensitive dressings, we blame our family for being poor and also we blame ourselves and the God for given us Nigeria as a country.

And this has becomes a belief system that we even transmits to the younger generations to inherit as a value system. Blaming syndrome has become a psychological problems that we have adopted to our way of life unconsciously as a result of the regular imprint of those major challenges and situations into our subconscious mind unnoticeably.

Furthermore, we have come to believe in what we are saying often and often without taking considerable notice of the impact of those words in our lives situations and the future of our country. Majority of our citizens ever since have not been seeing any good about Nigeria again, and the abundance human resources coupled with many tapped and untapped natural resources as a blessings to the country.

Our mental has registered it beyond expectations as we talk ill without noticing negative effects of those words on the progress and development of our dear country.

We also look at developed world and compare those countries with many of our African countries who has been hit with many disasters and instability.

Many of us runs to Europe, Dubai, UAE and plenty of developed countries of the world and still talk down of our countries from those places. Let me remind us that, our identity cannot be changed no matter how good or eloquent we are in terms of our English speaking ability or intelligent in adopting their cultures to ours.

We have also forgotten that, our words is very powerful in coming to reality.

Our blaming syndrome cannot change our identity or better our countries whatsoever, the only thing that can make Nigeria great and most of the African countries outstanding is our ability to take responsibility and as well as walk the walk and talk the talk of peace, unity, love and progress.

Enough of blaming most situations on government and policy makers, enough of blaming our situation on our religious and faith leaders, enough of blaming our situation on our parents, family, and society of delusional encroachment and lack of power and influence.

More importantly, we blame our leaders for corruption, mismanagement of funds and resources, and total lack of vision. But directly or indirectly through our gestures, actions, and impressions. We have all encourages all forms of; corruption, bribery, hooliganism, greediness, terrorism, ignorance, selfishness and a host of other retrogressive action and beliefs system which is the principal impediments to the peace, unity, and progress of our great country, Nigeria.

Nonetheless, it is high time we make considerable efforts to improve and change our mindsets away from blaming syndrome and take responsibility individually by doing what is believed to be right, and as well as talk good of our country in all our day to day action, dealing, and activities.

Finally, the youths hold the keys in their hands and all ingredients, resources, and strength that can make Nigeria great as a country, take responsibility and take action today for the progress, unity, and peaceful co-existence of our lovely country.

God bless Federal Republic of Nigeria 🇳🇬.
