APPRECIATION AND ITS POWER IN OUR SOCIAL LIFE
Lack of empathy and compassion has made many fine people turn into wolves and intolerable beings.
We have had enough negative people in this part of the world, this is the time to learn better ways to show love and appreciation.
Furthermore, this lack of appreciation has damaged many peaceful homes and turned them into a jungle.
This lack of appreciation has made many bridge builders and progressive leaders turn into careless and callous beings.
Lack of appreciation removes affection, diligence, honesty, and straightforwardness, and replaces them with anger, lies, greed, and carelessness.
Poor application of appreciation has created more unpatriotic citizens than patriotic ones.
This lackadaisical attitude has destroyed and knocked down many powerful and beautiful organizations to the ground.
Poor appreciation has created frustrations and discouraged many beautiful souls, into diabolic and Satanic personalities.
When people do good things, become high achievers, or display an emulatable character, we need to appreciate which will in turn serve as a motivation for them to do more better next time.
Our society is lacking in so many ways, we are very poor and inferior in many things; relationships, child upbringing, social life, research, self-education, self-improvement, and governance. We only want miracles to happen now and then. We ask our God with so many loads of requests and He has given us a powerful machine which is a brain to solve problems. No wonder we are always dependent with so many sense of entitlement.
The basis of honesty, truthfulness, love, compassion, friendliness, morals with acceptable character and attitudes, humility, and even to the point of religious beliefs started from a big institution called family, but what we have in so many of our families today is nothing but total gibberish and nonsense.
The great seventeenth-century thinker Baltasar Gracian says: "Many people spend time studying the properties of animals and herbs; how much more important it would be to study those of people, with whom we must live or die".
What we know best to do is fabricate lies and cunningly or subtly change color from white to black even when it is glaringly the same white.
How can we progress as a country?
We need to retrace our steps and go back to our basis of good and emulatable social life full of acceptable character and prime quality.
Our educational goals in this part of the world are not solving the expected problem. More than 90% of the vast majority of our Youths are not productive, there is a wastage of potential and under-utilization of God's gifted talents.
It is high time for us to go back and retrace our steps.
Honestly, we have missed it somewhere as a nation.
I quote again the great leader from South West Nigeria, and the best president Nigeria never had, Chief Obafemi Awolowo who says in 1986 that: "As long as Nigerians remain what they are, nothing clean, principled, ethical, and idealistic can work with them. And Nigerians will remain what they are, unless the evils which now dominate their hearts, at all levels and in all sectors of our political, business, and governmental activities are exorcised".
Nigeria can rise again and soar higher than before.
The change begins with me and you 👉.
Take a positive part to take charge.
